Dr. Leah Goodman, LCSW, OTR/L
(she/they)
I am a relational therapist at my core. I believe that the relationship you build with your therapist is the secret sauce in therapy. A safe, non-judgmental relationship in which you feel seen, understood, and challenged is a powerful tool for healing.
I am an evidence-based clinician with a casual, approachable style. I value levity and laughter— this work is important, but it doesn’t have to feel serious all of the time.
As an eclectic clinician, I draw from psychodynamic, systems, feminist, and mindfulness-based frameworks. I am also an occupational therapist and yoga teacher, which informs my practice.
I conceptualize well-being expansively—talk therapy is one piece of the puzzle when it comes to health. This means I often discuss complimentary supports with clients, including books, podcasts, community resources, and referrals to other trusted wellness providers.
I actively work to challenge oppression and inequity, both in my own life and in my work with clients.
It can be overwhelming to search for a therapist, and to try to anticipate who you might feel connected to. If you’re curious to explore if we might be a good fit, read a little bit more about my credentials and interests below.

a little more personal…
I'm from Miami, which has taught me to follow the sunshine. In Chicago that looks like spending time with my favorite humans, going to the lake, dancing, lifting weights, and gardening or cooking with my partner.
In between sessions, you’ll likely catch me drinking tea, gabbing about a new book or podcast, or basking in a sun spot by the window.
Outside of work, folks can typically find me outside, hosting people in my home, or asking to pet every dog I see.
